Better note organization: sub-notebooks/folders, labels/tags, etc.
Provide a way to better organize notes, beyond the current notebook organization. This could be done with nested notebooks or folders, labels for notes, sections, chapters, etc.
+1 to this
Sub-notebooks, please. Would be a HUGE value add! Thank you in advance :)
Sub notebooks please!! Being able to sub notebooks will really keep my Squid organized. It's frustrating that I have to constantly make notebooks that can be under one broader themed notebook.
Please add folders, subfolders. I have 18 notebooks already and it's hard to manage. A hierarchy of folders would help.
I would be willing to pay for this feature.

I Believe that the possibility for creation of LOCAL backups in format .pdf would be capable bring more safety to the notes.

Can you provide an option to archive a notebook so that it's somehow accessible but not in the list anymore? This would at least solve the problem that the list is getting longer and longer.

As long as Squid (for Android) does not have this feature, LectureNotes will remain a superior app for academic note-taking. I have been using LectureNotes for a few years, waiting eagerly for Papyrus/Squid to implement this (even meeting the Mr. Hughes by chance and talking with him about this in person!).
In the meantime, LectureNotes remains better because of its folder organization feature. Squid could be a real competitor, because of its smooth vector-based graphics and infinite pages, but without the ability to organize notes, it is unusable for anything but small-scale (and therefore more trivial) cases. Please add an organization feature and make this app a real note-taking contender!
I think the creation of 1 or 2 layers of organization would make this app much more workable. I love this app i prefer it to one note. a
Admittedly, i have contemplated switching until i saw the recent update to squid. It showed me you guys actually care about having good and relevant product. More layers of organization is the only MUST HAVE feature in my opinion. Though, i do agree with Russ, searchable tagging would be an excellent premium feature. I would pay for it and I'm sure that many others would too. It would put squid in the running for the top note taking app.
Good idea. Also you can add the ability to rename pages. And put some notebooks in one folder.

This feature is a must to be a productivity app and not just simply a novelty as it appears to stand now. It should also sync with Dropbox and obtain the organizational scheme based on the folder directories. Having such a sync option would also allow for the ability to launch and edit PDFs directly from the app while the PDF may exist only in the cloud within dropbox and contained in a sub directory called PDFs for instance while notes would exist in another folder. Obviously, adding google drive functionality would be amazing but maybe I'm asking to much. As such I could modify my dropbox folders or the Squid file tree and they would both update one another. Such a feature would make the app useful for students and business people alike.

Please add sub-notebooks for better organization.
I'll start looking for a new note taking application.
Let's put our money where our comments are: Who else would pay $5 if Andrew implemented tagging within pages and and a filtering function as pro features?
(Some kind of integration with IFTTT/zapier for trello would also be great but let's keep it simple for now)
Sorry for cross posting, but I still think adding meta data (tagging) is the only thing you should be working on at the moment. Have a look at how Evernote does this - then do it better. If I could tag my notes (inline within the handwriting would be awesome!) and then push the pages tagged as "Actions" out to Trello via IFTTT or Zapier it would raise my productivity to a whole new level.
I think if you guys have stopped working on this product you should open source it or at least come clean with your loyal supporters so they can start looking for an alternative.
Fingers crossed you haven't stopped!?!

This is killing me - I LOVE Squid/Papyrus, but my old notebooks are creating a ton of clutter. Worst case, just add some kind of "archive" feature to move the old notebooks out of the way (that's not a fix, but it would be a short-term workaround that might not take much development effort - maybe?).
Thanks for all your work toward this app - it really is fantastic (but it BADLY needs this additional organization feature)
My notebooks are labeled for each month (April 2014) would line to put them into a folder (2014) so I don't have to scroll all the way done to the latest notebook (August 2014) all the time
It's been over 2 years since this idea was first mentioned. It has been the number 2 most voted feature request for quite some time now. How has this not been addressed in any way? It seems like a no-brainer
This is just what missing.
Please add this and youll be the best app!
Yes yes yes PLEASE! Want to use this app for college but definitely needs some updating . Love it though
Tags would make this so much better. I'm currently thinking about exporting finished notes to evernote just so I can tag them, but this feels like a silly workaround. Please!!
