I would like to be able to use the arrow keys to navigate between pages rather than having to click on the arrow keys i the navigation bar.3 votes
You can do this using alt + left/right arrows. FYI, using just left/right (and up/down) arrows by themselves pans around the page. A complete list of shortcuts is available here: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1201054.
Would like to see support for tablet mode split screen in Chrome OS13 votes
Split screen is fully supported by Squid. Whether this works on your Chromebook depends on which version of Chrome OS and device you have. In general, this should work on Chrome OS 70. However, it is currently broken on the Pixel Slate (running Chrome OS 71 with Android 9) as well as Chrome OS 72 with Android 9. Both of these issues have been reported to Google and should be fixed in a future update to Chrome OS.
If you ever have any issues with split screen, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what device and version of Chrome OS you’re on and we’ll let Google know about the issue if we haven’t already.
I updated my Surface to Windows 10, and didn't realize this would break my premium features. I considered re-purchasing (loved the app), but the link to the store is broken.
This app was used every day -- I've switched to One Note for now (ugh), but the more notes I build in OneNote, the less likely I am to go back to Papyrus.2 votes
Update: Squid is no longer available on Windows (it was removed some time ago). We hope we can bring Squid back to Windows someday, but right now we’re focused on Android and Chromebook support.
This issue was not related to Windows 10. Papyrus (now called Squid) was removed from the Windows Store due to a trademark issue (see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/716574 for more info). Squid is now back in the Windows Store, and your premium features should be working again. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused!
Currently the way to import pdf's is by importing the whole pdf which starts a new note. A better implementation would be to create a note then import the pdf and be able to select pages you wish to be imported. This way multiple different pdf's and selected pages can be imported into one note file.58 votes
You can now insert any number of PDFs into an existing note (whether or not it was created from a PDF originally)! To do so, long press on the current page number, then choose Insert PDF. We’re still working on improving the discoverability of this feature, as well as the ability to only choose certain pages from a PDF when inserting it. For now, you can delete any pages you do not want after inserting the PDF (although this is still fairly tedious since we don’t yet have bulk delete).
Add some sort of mode to quickly view & navigate all pages in a note. Helps with notes with more than 10 pages – maybe make it look like a contact sheet or Google Books navigation.17 votes
Just tap the current page number to view all the pages in a note and easily jump to the desired page.
Please add page select as type the page number not scrolling.
When i see pdf over 500 pages, i should touch right arrow over 100 times or scroll the page number chart so long time.
I wish i can reach the page at once as type the page number.
Thanks for good writing app Papyrus with good luck for everyone.51 votes
You can now type in a page number from the keyboard to jump to a specific page. To do this, tap the current page number to bring up the jump to page dialog, then tap the current page number and the keyboard will appear. Enter in the page number you want to jump to, then press Done/Ok on your keyboard and choose Ok on the dialog.
This has been available for a long time. To email a note as a PDF or images, see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/501223. From there, any email app that accepts either a PDF or images will appear as an option to share with.
this would make this software the ULTIMATE graphic facilitation tool. a total game changer! Imagine seeing a cast icon at the top of the screen. once pressed your television mirrors your drawing surface. meeting becomes interactive. upon completion, export a pdf to all who were present. awesome. Please make this happen.8 votes
I know that accessing a single button press is usable by an application because lecture notes uses it. A single press could switch between functions like S-Note. I also know that S-Pen functions can be intercepted in a rooted device like GMD SPen gestures, so rooted functions could be added as well.154 votes
The Note 4 and Note Edge finally allow us to perform actions with the S Pen side button (configurable in the Papyrus settings). Prior to these devices, we cannot control what happens when you press the S Pen side button. We hope Samsung will release updates to older devices in the future with the ability to detect the S Pen side button.
Note: It is possible to detect the S Pen side button while hovering on older devices, however this is not as intuitive or useful as being able to hold down the S Pen side button while touching the screen with the pen, which is now possible on the Note 4/Note Edge (and hopefully more devices soon)!
I cannot choose the color of notes - only white paper.
Sometimes it makes my eyes sore - you know the eye pain from the brightness of the electronics.
If I can change even the color of the notes like from white to black, then It would be definitely great for those who spend so much time with ur papyrus.294 votes
You can now choose any color for the blank background type!
Allow duplicating a page within a note.85 votes
You can now duplicate a page from the “Page actions” menu. For details, please see this FAQ article: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1906321.
Insert images from gallery and other sources.264 votes
Image import is available on the latest version of Papyrus (0.5.1) on Google Play and soon on Samsung Apps!
Import PDF files directly from Google Drive on a Chromebook.95 votes
This is already possible. You just need to install the Google Drive Android app from Google Play on your Chromebook. Please see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1874122 for further details.
Some of the comments on this idea appear to be for automatic Drive backup or sync. If that’s what you want, please vote here: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/forums/177239-general/suggestions/6379530.
We college and high school students would love to be able to take cornell notes on our tablets. A keyboard, typing feature would also be a plus.8 votes
Squid 3.0 for Android adds new premium paper backgrounds, including four different Cornell notes papers! For more info about available backgrounds, please see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/839010
the app has a CTRL-Z undo feature but there's no CTRL-Y redo feature
too many times I've deleted whole notes and not been able to bring them back1 vote
The keyboard shortcut for redo is Ctrl + Shift + Z. FYI, you can also tap the redo (and undo) buttons in the action bar at the top. Please see this FAQ article for a list of keyboard shortcuts: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1201054
It would be great to have the option to deactivate the return button while note taking to avoid accidentally closing the app1 vote
There’s an option to “Disable back button” in the Squid settings under Note editor.
I like being able to annotate .pdf versions of my professor's slides, however, if I want to add more notes, I have to go all the way to the end of the file, then add a page, then drag it to the right spot. It would be so much easier if I could just add a blank page right after my current page.11 votes
This is already possible (as Tony mentioned in the comments). Just long press the current page number to insert a page or PDF before the current page. Please see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/501193 and http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1136155
The ability to delete the page while you are on it, so that it doesn't save.1 vote
To delete the current page, long press on the current page number, then choose Delete page from the page actions menu.
You have a pretty awesome app but it lacks what all the rest lack - a dark (black) background.
You need to beat competition...most people want that.3 votes
As Tony described in the comments, this is already possible. Either create a new note with a blank background and choose the desired color, or change the background of an existing page by going to the Page Settings.
You can export PDFs to any app that will accept a PDF.
