Better Home Screen Organization
It would be nice if the app opened to a home screen that showed your folders/notebooks, rather than your individual recently opened notes. This would feel a little bit more organized and easy to access for people like me, who use multiple documents under one "Notebook" for classes and the like.
449 votesWe redesigned the home screen to show all your notes and folders!
This is now available in the Squid10 preview, which is live in the Beta on Google Play. We'd love your feedback!

Triangle Tool Please!
I would love if there was a triangle option in the shapes tool. I could use a right triangle tool when teaching the unit circle.

Wish there was a tool to draw curved lines.
Usually the screen is too slippery to draw lines, and it usually becomes wobbly. Wish there was a tool to draw curved lines and adjust the center of the curve or sort of to draw curved lines.

Full screen writing mode
Full screen mode to maximize writing space. Have a little "-" sign that minimizes the toolbar into a tiny chevron symbol. You can restore the toolbar by double tapping the chevron symbol.

handwriting recognition and search functions
I want to know if these functions are planned to be implemented in the near future... although it seems like no other android apps support these features as well, but when compared to other competitors in other platforms such as Goodnotes or Notability, lacking these features is quite disappointing.

Post-it function to add notes into small spaces on imported documents
I often use Squid to mark up papers and reports. However, in text-heavy documents there is often very little white space left on the page to add notes. Therefore a facility to add an expandable Post-it Note would be a very useful feature.

Zoom window for writing
Like in "good notes" for iPad, you could insert a zoom window witch allows you to write easier and faster. The good notes website describes it as followed:
GoodNotes provides the zoom window to assist you to write in small size with your fingers or with capacitive styluses. Inside the zoom window contains a zoomed view corresponding to a rectangular area on a page.334 votes -
Swipe between pages in view-only (reading) mode
I wish I could flip through pages instead of tapping the next page button during reading mode.

Continuous vertical scrolling (continuous page mode)
It would be nice to be able to start writing on the next page while still viewing the bottom of the previous page.
315 votesThere are many challenges with supporting continuous scrolling between pages. For example, a note can contain pages with infinite size (the default background type), which can be scrolled infinitely within the same page (so you’d never get to the next page). Infinite backgrounds can also be mixed with fixed size backgrounds (including PDFs). There isn’t really a good way to support scrolling through pages in this way. If you have any suggestions, please let us know in the comments!

It’s still on our todo list to support this directly, but I wanted to mention that it’s currently possible to password protect a note in a roundabout way: by importing a password protected PDF into the note. This will password protect the note with the password of the PDF. You can even delete the PDF from the note and the password will remain on the note.

Insert audio recording and playback
I like to record lectures as they are given and have several solutions for doing so. I'd love to see it as a unified function in a single app, and Papyrus is seriously one of my favorites. :)

Allow direct export or sync with Evernote
It seems like Evernote only OCRs handwriting from image files, not PDFs.

Ability to change the background and line colors for all backgrounds
I would like to be able to customize the lined paper without the use of external color-modifying/inverting software.
Particularly, I'd like to see black paper with gray lines.

Home screen widget for quick view of note
A home screen widget that would let you view a note and quickly open it to edit it.
262 votesYou can add a shortcut to your Home Screen to open a specific notebook (see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1179331) or to create a new note in a specific notebook (see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1179328).
It does not appear to be possible to create a widget that allows for taking handwritten notes directly on the Home Screen (due to the fact that you need to be able to swipe left/right to get to different pages on your Home Screen). Please vote here if you’re interested in a widget that shows a particular note on your Home Screen (and allows you to open it quickly to edit it).

Add own backgrounds (as PDF) to the backgrounds menu
I would like to add my own backgrounds to the backgrounds menu by uploading a PDF which holds the background (e. g. a form I have to fill in regularly). It should be possible during the uploading dialog to give an individual name to the background and the uploaded own backgrounds should appear in a section My Backgrounds in the backgrounds menu.

Insert/Remove vertical space
When I take notes I frequently need to go back later to insert additional material at a specific place. It would therefore be very important to have the ability to create such space by moving all material below further down. You can find this well implemented in the Microsoft Journal software, for example, see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IE/windows-vista/Format-a-Journal-note
