Backup notes without cloud services and without Root
With multiple Android devices I need to backup and also move notes from device to device and from device to a local NAS.
- There are many reasons to NOT use cloud services for such tasks, as they are inherently insecure. The cloud is a NO-GO for any serious user.
- Rooting my devices is also a NO-GO too.
- The ADB backup is again a NO-GO as it doesn't allow for selective backup and/or restore.
Please simply add the ability to save and load notes from SD card, be it internal or external. This also avoids the problem of notes eating up…
78 votesPapyrus 2.0 is rolling out with the ability to create and restore backups locally to your device or SD card. Just open the Papyrus settings and choose “Backup and restore” then “Local backup”.

We’ve added default zoom values you can set in the settings for both fixed size pages and infinite pages. You can also fit to width/height/screen or quickly jump to a specific zoom level from the zoom popup. All these features are available in Papyrus 1.0 (available now in Google Play). Please feel free to continue providing your feedback here or submit new ideas regarding these features.
Thanks for your feedback and patience!

Quick Tools
More functionality for the S Pen button. When you click the S Pen button, a little tool box should pop up close to the position of the pen. The tool box should have your most recent colors and custom pens/writing tools.
69 votesWe’ve had S Pen (active pen) side button gestures for a long time. See http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1144963 for more details.

Whoops! This has been available for quite a while. Just tap the current page number while in a note to see all the pages in the note. You can also long press to select and delete pages or drag and drop to rearrange pages.

Bulk PDF Export
Bulk PDF export to Google Drive and / or Dropbox would be very handy.
62 votesYou can now export one or more (or all) notes as PDFs to any other apps that accept PDFs (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) from the main screen in Squid! For details please see this FAQ article: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/1953943
Here’s bulk PDF export in action: https://twitter.com/squidnotes/status/1298779178217566208

Export in native format
This would allow a user to edit notes between devices. For example create a note on Tab A and export to a Dropbox folder and then open and edit on Note 7 phone also running Squid. You can export to .pdf but then editing cannot be done on the original.
59 votesYou can now export and import notes in the new Squid Note (.squidnote) file format! This allows notes to be backed up and shared between devices and people in their original editable format.

import pdf pages into actual note.
Currently the way to import pdf's is by importing the whole pdf which starts a new note. A better implementation would be to create a note then import the pdf and be able to select pages you wish to be imported. This way multiple different pdf's and selected pages can be imported into one note file.
58 votesYou can now insert any number of PDFs into an existing note (whether or not it was created from a PDF originally)! To do so, long press on the current page number, then choose Insert PDF. We’re still working on improving the discoverability of this feature, as well as the ability to only choose certain pages from a PDF when inserting it. For now, you can delete any pages you do not want after inserting the PDF (although this is still fairly tedious since we don’t yet have bulk delete).

Locked "reading" mode
When I review my notes, it's too easy to accidentally erase something, especially when the eraser tool is assigned to the finger touch
57 votesWe just released an update on Google Play today (v0.7.0) which adds a “view-only” mode. By default, notes are opened in the last mode they were in (so at first, “edit” mode). You can switch to “view-only” mode by clicking “view-only” in the overflow menu (three dots in the upper right or menu key on some devices). The default behavior can be changed to always open in “view-only” or “edit” in the Papyrus settings under Note Editor→Open Actions.

New page type: music sheet
It would be nice to have a music sheet as a page type.
Better than this would be nice to have a way of importing new page types from a jpg or a pdf.55 votesSquid 3.0 for Android adds new premium paper backgrounds, including various music staff papers: single, double, grand, treble, and bass! For more info about available backgrounds, please see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/839010

Add the page select way as typing the page number, not scrolling
Please add page select as type the page number not scrolling.
When i see pdf over 500 pages, i should touch right arrow over 100 times or scroll the page number chart so long time.
I wish i can reach the page at once as type the page number.
Thanks for good writing app Papyrus with good luck for everyone.
51 votesYou can now type in a page number from the keyboard to jump to a specific page. To do this, tap the current page number to bring up the jump to page dialog, then tap the current page number and the keyboard will appear. Enter in the page number you want to jump to, then press Done/Ok on your keyboard and choose Ok on the dialog.

Back to Basics: jump to last page and jump to entered page number
As the title says you need to add a way where the user can select the page they want to go to. I have notes that exceed 60 pages and if you want to write something new to one of those notes you have to click the right arrow 60 times -.-
So please add that feature f.e. as a dropdown field appearing by clicking the site number on the upper right. Also check that out: http://papyrus.uservoice.com/forums/177239-general/suggestions/3240637-please-add-a-way-to-default-opening-a-notebook-dir

51 votesWe just released an update on Google Play today (v0.7.0) which lets you jump to any page in the note by tapping the current page number. Also notes now open to the last page viewed by default (this can be disabled in the settings).

I am thinking about switching from lecturenotes to papyrus.. but i woukd like to see
1) fit page to screen width
2) change background color / custom page setup
3) disable touch when using pen
4) PDF page import and maybe PowerPoint slide import with layers
5) (maybe) default note name with date of note38 votesWe just released Papyrus 1.0 with PDF import and fit page to width, height, and screen options! We do not yet have the ability to change the background color of a page (planned). If you are using a device with an active pen (such as a Galaxy Note device), finger touch should automatically be disabled while using the pen (this is done by the system).

Allow to copy and paste between pages.
The app currently does not allow users to copy and paste between pages in a single note. It would also be helpfully to be able to copy and paste between notebooks.
37 votesThe ability to copy and paste between pages (or notes) has been available since the initial release of Papyrus. Use the selection tool to select the desired items. Choose “copy”. Navigate to another page or open another note, open the overflow menu (three dots in the upper right corner or menu key on some devices) and click “paste”.

Zoom control
Make default zoom setting "Fit To Width" when opening note book and navigating to new page. Add zoom tool for 100% and other zoom percentages
32 votesWe just released Papyrus 1.0 with fit to width, height, and screen options, as well as the ability to set default zoom levels for fixed size pages and infinite pages in the settings. You can also easily toggle the zoom lock and jump to a specific zoom level from the zoom popup!

Export to jpg or png
How about exporting to JPEG or PNG for sending via Whatsapp and stuff.
Maybe a page border should be mandatory then, or maybe it could even crop automatically. And when the JPEG is too large; JPEG > 5MB it would give a warning or something.
I haven't put too much thought into it yet.
But it would be a really cool feature.28 votesFor instructions on how to export a note to images, see this FAQ article: http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/501223.

Saving Zoom level at which a note was created at so it reopens at the same zoom level
When you save a note say at 50%, when you go back to the note it opens at 100% zoom. What I'm suggesting is that the note would automatically open at the zoom level you created, in this case 50%. This would save time and effort when opening notes. Also sometimes when I pinch zoom I inadvertently erase some of the note so I'm having to use the Undo button
